Polly Baca will MC the Touching Tomorrow breakfastPolly Baca was a pioneer in the growing field of Hispanic women politics. Baca was the first minority woman to be elected to the Colorado State Senate and served in the Colorado legislature for 12 years. She was also the first Hispanic woman to co-chair a National Democratic Convention and the first Hispanic woman to receive a major party nomination for the U. S. Congress. Additionally, she was also the first Hispanic woman to serve in leadership in any State Senate in the United States, and the first woman and the first minority to head the General Services Agency in the 6-state Rocky Mountain Region VIII.

A long-time activist at the local, regional, and national levels, she is nationally known for her leadership skills and motivational presentations. Little known among Baca's accomplishments is that she is also trained in Healing Touch.

Baca was born in on a small farm in Weld County, Colorado, and is the daughter of Mexican Americans. She recently served as a senior advisor to the Andrew Romanoff campaign for the U.S. Senate.
