Team LifeSpark Joins the Colfax Marathon May 17

LifeSpark is committed to lighten the journey for those with cancer. LifeSpark, a Colorado charity, reduces the harsh side effects of cancer treatment through weekly Reiki and Healing Touch sessions, which also support a feeling of peace and well-being. The organization matches volunteer Reiki and Healing Touch providers with individuals with cancer for weekly sessions for a period of three to six months. Research indicates that energy therapies can reduce pain, fatigue, depression, and stress and can support healing while enhancing spirituality. The program has been in place since 2002 and collaborates with area hospitals and churches.

Individuals wishing to support LifeSpark can register for the Colfax Marathon by visiting www.LifeSparkNow.org. The Marathon is May 17, and the course is along Colfax Avenue, one of the longest commercial streets in the U.S. Walkers and runners can run the full or half marathon (three months training period recommended), or walk or run in a relay (3K, 5K and 10K available). It is a fun way to get to know others while staying in shape. Walkers and runners are asked to raise funds for LifeSpark for their run or walk, and easy fundraising methods are available on the LifeSpark website. All donations are matched.
